About Me

Born and raised in Rhode Island, I grew up around working dogs, specifically police K9’s. In my early 20s, I decided to start working with and training my 1 year old German Shepherd, Jerry Lee, in the sport of Schutzhund. Joining a Schutzhund club, I began apprenticing and ultimately worked with the head trainer for several years.

I have trained numerous breeds and temperaments over the last 20 years. While working as a military contractor at Fort Hood in Killeen, I decided to invest in a high-drive female Belgian Malinois puppy, Sable, to train in IPO (Protection Training). Based on Sable’s temperament, I decided to train her as my service dog.

After my military contract ended, I decided to follow my passion for dog training once again, working at a local dog training company. Integrity, honesty, and ethical practices are important to me, and I quickly realized that I wanted to explore and grow this passion of mine on my own, and Priority1 K9Training was born.
